We’re thrilled to be part of the future of cinema! Our newest partner, Really, is re-imagining moviegoing—from their popular Augmented Reality (AR) Collectible Tickets to their recently announced Fandime fan engagement platform. Really’s blockchain-based technology allows movie fans to keep a record of their ticket stubs and use them to access custom rewards, content, and events. These programs bring the movies to life: imagine games that seamlessly extend the storylines of your favorite movies, exclusive access to live events, and opportunities to acquire special-edition merchandise, all based on which movies you’ve seen and how you’ve engaged with various brands over your lifetime. To date, Really has helped moviegoers claim over 4M unique collectibles for 200 wide-release movies via their network of global cinema partners.

While the blockchain-based technology underlying the Really wallet is invisible, it’s also what makes this novel platform possible. Really wallets, which are the central hub for the moviegoer experience, are powered by CubeSigner, Cubist’s new Web3 wallet-as-a-service offering.

When a moviegoer creates a Really account, CubeSigner securely generates a new wallet within bank-grade secure hardware—where their data will be protected against theft and loss. Next, when that person plays a game, makes a purchase, or claims a proof-of-attendance collectible after seeing a movie, Really records their engagement by using their Cubist-generated wallet to sign a transaction on the Avalanche blockchain. Studios, brands, and theaters can use this digital record to better understand the interests of their fans and offer them personalized experiences that are likely to drive continued engagement and commercial activity. On the flip side, moviegoers create ownership of their own unique entertainment experience in a multi-channel way that wouldn’t be possible without the wallet.

Really chose to work with Cubist because CubeSigner provides secure Web3 wallet infrastructure that is _also_ performant and customizable. The CubeSigner API is helping Really get their product to market quickly by allowing them to hand-tune a UI that moviegoers love without having to fight an opinionated wallet backend. Finally, while many Web3 wallets impose slowdowns because of esoteric (and risky) crypto protocols, and many others give up on security for performance (e.g., and manage keys in the (extremely vulnerable) web browser) CubeSigner takes a fundamentally different approach: the hardware-backed design doesn’t force anyone to choose between security and user experience.

“As the world of media continues to transition from Web2 to Web3 solutions, we are thrilled to be partnered with Cubist to achieve our goals of creating a truly user-friendly way for customers to take advantage of this technology at scale,” said James Andrew Felts, CEO of Really.

Looking forward, Really’s collaboration with Cubist positions them to radically disrupt how entertainment companies and brands engage with their audiences—and ultimately, how each fan experiences movies in their own way, on and off of the big screen.

**About Really:**
Founded by media entrepreneur James Andrew Felts in 2017, Really (formerly Moviebill) is an Augmented Reality platform dedicated to blockbuster entertainment. The technology is powered by a proprietary SDK and CMS architecture that allows for highly functional, large scale AR content that can be released on a consistent schedule with immediate access to updates and changes. The platform reaches millions of moviegoers monthly via partnerships with multiple cinema chains in North America and throughout Asia. Moviebill has released over 500 AR activations for studio content and global brands like Tencent, 3M, M&M’s, Geico, and more.

A proper anti-slashing setup mitigates these risks on AVSes which have designed their protocols to be anti-slashable, but this doesn’t mean just firing up an instance of Web3Signer.
